When the Future Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel Was Shot Down Over the Delta

On September 11, 1969, a pair of Israeli Mirage jets were chasing two MiG-21s from Squadron 26 when they were ambushed from behind by two MiG-21s led by Major Fawzi Salama and First Lieutenant Martyr Mustafa Gamaa. Mustafa Gamaa successfully shot down an Israeli Mirage piloted by the veteran pilot Giora Rom over the Delta, and Rom was captured.
